How a listing earns the Verified badge, how reviews are checked, how the Veritas rank is calculated, and how software upvotes work. None of it is affected by payment.
The verification ladder
Anyone who submits, claims or edits a listing climbs the same ladder.
- Email one-time password. Required for every account. You cannot submit, claim, review or vote until you have entered the code we send to your email address.
- Website-domain match. If your account email is on the same domain as the listing’s website ([email protected] for acmehr.in), the listing is automatically flagged as domain-verified. Gmail and similar addresses cannot pass this rung.
- Phone one-time password. Planned, not live yet. When switched on, we will send an SMS code to the listed business number.
- Administrator approval. A person at Veritas HR checks the profile against the company’s own website and publishes it. Nothing goes live without this step; edits to a published listing wait in a revision queue until checked.
The Verified badge is shown when a listing is domain-verified or has been verified by an administrator. A listing that was researched by us and never claimed does not carry the badge, and its profile says “Focus not yet provided — claim to add”.
Structured, verified reviews
Reviews follow a fixed structure so they can be compared. You must be logged in to write one. A reviewer provides:
- an overall rating from 1 to 5, and separate ratings for quality of work, keeping to schedule, value for cost, and willingness to refer;
- the type of project, its budget band, the reviewer’s role and their company size;
- a written summary, what went well, and what did not.
Every review is held for moderation before it appears. An administrator may mark a review verified after checking the reviewer is who they say they are, usually via a work email on the reviewer’s company domain or a matching public professional profile. Unverified reviews that pass moderation are still shown, labelled as such, and count less towards the rank.
Rules: one review per user per company; login required; nothing of value in return for a review; no reviews by the company’s own staff, owners or agencies; no HTML or links in review text. Reviews that break these rules are removed; repeat offenders lose their account. To report a review, email [email protected] with the link and the reason. We reply within two business days.
How the Veritas rank works
Every HR services provider gets a score from 0 to 100, recalculated nightly and whenever a rating or profile changes. Five signals:
- Reviews — 45%. A weighted average that pulls small samples towards the site-wide mean, so one five-star review does not beat twenty four-star reviews. A profile with no reviews starts at the average, not zero. A bonus is added for the share of admin-verified reviews.
- Profile completeness — 25%. Ten checks: logo, tagline, a 120-word description, all three focus breakdowns, services, sectors, contact details, website, commercials (minimum project and rate band), and portfolio. Owners see what they are missing in their dashboard.
- Trust — 15%. Points for being verified and for being claimed.
- Freshness — 10%. Full marks if the profile was edited or reviewed in the last 90 days, falling to nothing at a year.
- Demand — 5%. Enquiries through the site in the last 90 days, on a scale that flattens so a large firm cannot run away with it.
Ties are broken by number of reviews, then by newest listing. “Ranked #3 in Ahmedabad for payroll” means third by rank score among published listings that share that city and primary service. Sponsored or featured status never enters the calculation; a featured listing sits in a separate, labelled row.
Upvotes for HR software
Software is ordered by votes in the last seven days (“Top this week”) by default, with an all-time score that adds approved reviews and rating. To vote you must be logged in with a verified email. One vote per user per product, enforced in the database; clicking again removes it. A vendor’s account cannot vote for its own product. Vote rings and bulk votes from new accounts are discounted and may cost the accounts.
