About Training & development in India

Training and development providers deliver programmes ranging from first-time manager workshops and sales skills to technical certifications, leadership journeys and mandatory compliance sessions such as POSH awareness. Pricing follows one of three models: a per-day trainer fee of ₹15,000 to ₹1 lakh depending on seniority and subject, a per-participant rate for open programmes and e-learning, or an annual retainer for a learning calendar. Before you buy, ask who the actual facilitator will be, request a sample session or a client reference in your industry, check whether content will be customised using your own cases and whether post-programme reinforcement and assessment are included. Skill-development schemes may also subsidise some programmes for eligible employers.

Providers listed here show a day-rate band, minimum engagement and a focus bar that separates specialist training houses from HR consultancies offering the occasional workshop. Moderated reviews from L&D managers report on facilitator quality, content relevance and whether behaviour actually changed, which is what you are paying for.

Frequently asked questions

What does corporate training cost per day in India?

Facilitator fees run from ₹15,000 per day for a junior trainer on soft skills to ₹1 lakh or more for a senior leadership coach or niche technical expert. Venue, materials, travel and assessment tools are usually charged separately.

Is POSH training mandatory for employees?

Yes. The POSH Act, 2013 requires every employer to organise awareness programmes for employees and orientation for Internal Committee members at regular intervals. Most companies run annual sessions and include POSH in induction; the annual report must mention the workshops held.

Can training be claimed as a business expense?

Employee training costs are deductible business expenditure for the employer. Fees to trainers attract TDS under Section 194J at 10% and GST at 18%. Some sector skill councils and state schemes offer reimbursements for certified programmes, so ask the provider.
