Overseas recruitment agencies place Indian workers and professionals with employers in the Gulf states, Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia. Only agencies registered with the Ministry of External Affairs as recruiting agents may legally recruit for foreign employers, and the eMigrate system records every deployment to the eighteen countries that require emigration clearance. Reputable agencies are paid by the employer; Indian law caps what a candidate can be charged at a nominal service fee, so any agency asking for large deposits or visa charges should be avoided. Typical mandates cover construction trades, oil and gas technicians, nurses, hospitality staff and drivers, with pre-departure trade tests and medicals arranged locally.
Agencies listed here show their MEA registration status where published, the countries and trades they serve, and reviews from employers and placed candidates. Filter by city to find agencies with trade-test centres near you, and compare turnaround and replacement terms before signing a demand letter.
Yes. Under the Emigration Act, 1983, only recruiting agents registered with the Ministry of External Affairs may recruit Indian citizens for jobs abroad. Ask for the registration number and check it on the eMigrate portal.
The service charge is capped by government notification at a nominal amount plus GST, and employers usually bear the full recruitment cost. Any demand for visa fees, deposits or large processing charges is a warning sign.
Eighteen countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia and Iraq, require ECR passport holders to obtain emigration clearance through eMigrate before departure. Professionals with ECNR passports do not.
